Engineering Science is an interdisciplinary program that closely integrates various fields of basic sciences and engineering, with the primary goal of training engineers who possess a strong foundation in the basic sciences. In today’s world of science and technology, Engineering Science is recognized as a prominent discipline at leading universities around the globe. This program provides and atmosphere in which students, while acquiring engineering skills, can also pursue their interests in diverse scientific fields such as computation, mathematics, and physics. The designed clusters within this field prepare students for advanced and in-depth studies in both engineering and science.
Recognizing the importance of this discipline, Ardakan University established the Engineering Science program in 2013 with the approval of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. One of the main objectives of this program is to train engineers with a strong background in basic sciences and a deep understanding of engineering techniques and methods, enabling them to lead and conduct interdisciplinary industrial research projects.
It is noteworthy that from 2013 to 2022, Ardakan University offered clusters in Electronics, Optimization, and Mechanics within the Engineering Science program. Since 2022, in response to student interest and available potentials, the university now offers Engineering Science exclusively in the “Computer Software” cluster.
The group currently has three faculty members actively engaged in scientific and academic activities.
